Simple Night Time Makeup Look

Hi everyone! Nicole here 😄

Hope you're all doing okay! I just created a simple look with the main focus being on the lips and the winged eyeliner, great for a night out. I wanted to start my first look by creating a simple look so let me know how I did in the comments section!

I first moisturized my face using my Dermalogica Skin Smoothing Cream. Make sure your hands are clean to avoid germs all over your face! Then I moved on to priming my face using my Eveline Cosmetics Primer; a primer that is good for normal to combination skin. After my face is moisturized and primed, I go straight to my eyes. For my eyes I primed my eyes using my Instant Age Rewind Concealer by Maybelline in the shade light, my holy grail drugstore concealer! I then set my eyelids with my Rimmel Loose Powder in the shade Transparent.

Moving onto the eyeshadow I’ve used my Carli Bybel BH Cosmetics Palette. It is a really affordable and value for money palette. Using a light mauve purple shade as my transition shade, I then applied a shimmer pinkish colour all over my lid. After my eyeshadow I went straight to the Gel Eyeliner by Maybelline in the shade Black. I love using my Inglot Duraline liquid which helps my eyeliner go on even smoother on my lids. The last thing that I did to my eyes is apply my L’Oreal Telescopic Mascara on the top and bottom lashes and … voilà! Eyes done!

After finishing my eyes, I go on straight to my face. I started using my Dior Air Flash Foundation about two months ago, and I was really impressed by the results! It's so lightweight and it gives a slightly glowy finish. Next, I conceal under my eyes with the same concealer I primed my eyes with. Setting and baking my under eyes with my Rimmel Loose Powder. I'll leave that to bake for about 5 minutes. Until my loose powder is baking I move on to the brows. I use my Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in the shade Ebony. I sometimes use also my Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade in the same shade.

For contouring, I use my NYX Powder Contour Palette picking the lightest contour colour. I love using a grey tone colour since it gives a more natural contour. Applying one of my favourite (and affordable blushes) on the apple of my cheeks from Essence The Matt Touch Blush in the shade Berry Me Up. Moving on to my favourite part - HIGHLIGHTING ❤! I use the Sleek Highlighting Palette Solstice.

For lipstick I used my New Look lipstick in the shade Violet.
My last step is spraying some setting spray to this makeup look. I recommend using a setting spray to set everything and make everything melt into your skin so that you’re make up will last longer. My favourite fixing spray is the Mac Fix Plus. Apart from smelling really good it also freshens your skin!

That’s it for today look! I've got a lot of makeup looks planned for you from simple ones to more dramatic ones but nevertheless if you have any suggestions just leave them in the comments down below.
Lots of love, Nicole x x x

Enough talking for today! Let's get into the makeup look 💘

On this day I had a busy morning shooting outfit and makeup posts - one of them being this one! Therefore, I wanted my makeup to stay on all day. I first started my morning skin routine (let me know if you'd like to see an updated one) and finished off with my moisturizer. Then I went ahead and applied my Maybelline Instant Pore Eraser Primer. For foundation I used my Rimmel BB Cream in the shade Light. I applied that all over my face using my beauty-blender. For concealer I used the Maybelline SuperStay Better Skin Concealer in the shade Light. For all the Maltese readers you can actually get hold of Maybelline products quite easily. There are a couple of shops that sell their products in Malta, however they will not have everything. I usually buy my products from online websites which have very quick delivery and cheap or free delivery. Moving on to mattify my face I used the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder Foundation and went ahead and applied the Maybelline Blush in Peach Pop. This last product, I actually purchased from abroad as well as the concealer so you might not find the exact ones in Malta or online however Maybelline has so many different foundation and concealer products that you're bound to find one you love!

Moving on to my brows I used the usual palette and that is the Essence Quattro Eyeshadow in to die for using the darkest shade to lightly fill in my brows. For eyeshadow I used the same palette (yes, I do use it for something else other than my brows!). I just created a super easy brown smokey eye by applying the two light shades all over my lids and then applying the two darker shades to the outer V of the lid and blending until I have a nice and subtle brown smokey eye.

For mascara I used the Flormar Spider Lash 3 in 1 Mascara and applied that to the top and bottom lashes. For my lips, I simply used the Maybelline Baby Lips in Dr.Rescue because my lips were super chapped that day!

That is all for today's look! Hope you enjoyed it - let me know in the comments below what you think of it 😄

I will see you next week ! X

Take care,
Deborah X

Last Minute Valentine's Day Makeup

Hi loves! Today will be the last post for Valentine's 2017 😭 I will link all of the Valentine's Day related posts that I uploaded up till now at the end of this post. In a couple of days I posted 3 Outfits for Valentine's Day - a casual one, an outfit for a girls night out and an outfit for a lunch date as well as a day time/night time makeup transformation look that although it is not Valentine's Day themed you can still get a couple of ideas if you plan on spending the whole day with your loved one 💗

So for today's post I will be showing you a brown smokey eye look using the Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette. I will only be focusing on the eyeshadow part of the look but if you want me to do a full face makeup routine or a foundation routine let me know in the comments down below. Obviously, it's not necessary to use this palette - you can use whatever palettes you have and use similar colours and put your own twist to it! Let me know down in the comments section, if you liked these Valentine's posts and what you'd like to see next on Distorted Priorities.

With that being said, let's get on with today's makeup look!

I first started by applying an eye primer to help the eyeshadow stay on much longer. I then went ahead and applied White Chocolate all over my lid. I always like to apply a white/nude shade all over my lid to act as a base to the rest of the shades I apply after. I then go in with Salted Caramel and slowly start working the colour in my crease to create dimension. The key here is to blend really well. I then continue working on the crease by adding Hazelnut to the crease.

After each shade that I apply I make sure that it is well blended. Next comes the dark shade and here it is important that you careful - less is more ladies! It's better if you apply bit by bit rather than applying too much product on your brushes and ending up looking like you have a black eye! I do this by applying Triple Fudge to the very end of the crease. This is what creates the smokey eye so take your time with it and go back and forth with this colour and the previous ones to get the desired look.

I like to apply that little bit of a plum shade to a brown smokey eye and that's what I did today. I used Cherry Cordial and used a denser brush to intensify the colour. After making sure that I  blended everything really well, I applied Marzipan to the inner part of the eyelid to create a contrast between the dark shades at the end of the eyelid and the light shades in the inner part of the eyelid.

To finish off the look I picked some of the Triple Fudge & Cherry Cordial shade on a liner brush and applied that to my lower lash line to compliment my eyeshadow. To highlight the brow bone I used Champagne Truffle. For the lips I used Chi by ColourPop.

That is all for today's post! Hope you enjoyed it 😄 If you have any blog posts suggestions don't forget to leave them down below 😊

One last thing before I go! At the moment we have a giveaway going on our Facebook page where you can win a 9-piece brush set by Make-Up Studio costing €129. Make sure you check it out here and enter! Best of luck!!

Take care,
Deborah X

2 Valentine's Day Outfits: GNO & Lunch Date

Hi loves! I hope you're enjoying all these Valentine's Day themed posts as much as I loved working on them 😍 Today's post is a particular one! I am finally collaborating with Kezia from Kezzie's Corner 💙 She's a Maltese beauty and fashion blogger & youtuber. I love her channel and blog and today we decided to collaborate together for the very first time.

Basically, we decided on a theme that is Valentine's Day and we decided to create two complete looks with makeup and outfit for a GNO for those who may be single and are just going to spend their night with their friends to have a girls night out in the evening and we also created a Lunch Date look for those who are going for lunch with their significant other or even with their friends. On my blog I did the outfit part of these two looks and on Kezia's Youtube channel she did the makeup part of these looks. I will link her youtube channel, blog as well as her social media at the end of the post. If you'd like to see the video you can check it out here and if you'd like to check out her blog you can check it out here. Here's a sneak peek of her looks!

Lunch Date Look

Lunch Date Look
Moving on to my part of the post! All of the outfit details will be at the end of the post 😆

Let's start with the GNO Look first!

For this look I decided to go for a black-grey colour scheme! I wore this light black long-sleeve shirt and paired it with my ripped-jeans. Since the shirt is very light I threw on this chunky grey-black sweater and to dress-up the outfit I wore this really cool choker - there are different ways on how to wear this choker but I decided to wear it this way 😁 I then finished my outfit with my usual black booties.

If you don't like wearing a sweater you can always go swap it with a chunky scarf instead.

For my Lunch Date look I decided to dress up a bit more girly! Therefore, I decided to wear this mustard button up skirt that I wore with my black long-sleeve criss-cross shirt. This shirt is very see-through so I usually wear a black tank top underneath it.

I tucked in the shirt and wore my black leather jacket over it. Since it can be a bit chilly I wore my black see-through tights and to finish the look I wore my black booties. To accesorzie I wore my Michael Kors watch.

That is it for today's post! I hope you liked it 💗 Let me know what you think of it in the comments down below!

I'll see you next week for another post! Happy weekend X

Day time/Night time Makeup Transformation

Hi beauties! I'm back in Malta after a short vacation in Vienna & Bratislava and blogging collaborations are on in full swing! I worked really hard for these posts, I hope you like them!

Tonight's post is another collab with What Sarah Writes. Lat week we each posted our January Favourites on each other's blogs. You can see my favourites here and Sarah's favourites here. A couple of months ago I had posted a day time-night time outfit transformation and you loved it! So together with Sarah today we decided to give you a day time-night time makeup transformation on my blog and an OOTD on Sarah's blog. Don't forget to check both of our posts 💛 You can check out Sarah's OOTD right here.

Starting off with the day time makeup I started off by applying my Deborah Milano Dress Me Perfect Foundation in the shade 03 Sand. For concealer, I used my Deborah Milano Radiance Creator and applied that on my imperfections as well as under my eyes to hide any dark circles. To finish the base of the makeup look I used my Rimmel Stay Matte Powder Foundation. For blush I used the Maybelline Blush in 100 Peach Pop. I moisturized my lips using the Baby Lips Dr.Rescue by Maybelline. I applied a few coats of mascara using the Deborah Milano 24hr Absolute Volume Mascara. For my brows, I did the same routine that is applying the darkest shade from the Essence Quattro Eyeshadow palette in the shade 05 to die for.

For my eyes I used the Sleek i-Divine Palette in Enchanted Forest 098. I kept it simple for the day time look and simply applied the 1st and 4th shade from the palette all over my lid, Glass Slipper & Fairy God Mother respectively.

For the night time I touched up my lips and my eyeshadow to make the makeup look more night time appropriate. I started off by applying Pumpkin all over my lid from the same palette which is a golden shade (1st one from the 2nd row). To create a simple smokey eye effect I used my favourite dark shades out of this palette i.e. Drizella (last shade from the 1st row) and a mix of Anastasia & Lady Tremaine (4th and 6th shade from the 2nd row respectively). I applied these dark shades one after the other to the outer part of my eyelid and blended well until I got the desired look. I used the same dark shades for my bottom lash line instead of eyeliner so that it would compliment the eyeshadow look perfectly.

For my lips I used Sleek's Matte Me liquid lipstick in the shade Velvet Slipper.

That is all for tonight's post! Hope you liked it 😄

Love,
Deborah X

Casual Valentine's Day Outfit

Hi beauties! While you're reading this I will be in Vienna with my friends but I made sure that this post still goes up today for you guys ❤ I worked really hard on it and I hope you like it ! I'd like to thank Sabrina for taking the photos and I'd like to welcome her to the Distorted Priorities team as she will be helping me out in taking photos for my blog.

For those of you who did not see yesterday's post I collabed with Sarah from What Sarah Writes. On her blog you can find my January Favourites and on this blog you can find her January Favourites. For today, I have another collab, this time with Clara from Makeup Admirer. On my blog I will be showing you a casual Valentine's day outfit for those who are going for a lunch with their significant other or simply going out with their friends throughout the day - in my opinion this outfit will also be night time appropriate. All the details to the outfit will be at the end of the post. Clara, on the other hand prepared for you a traditional Valentine's Day look with red lips. I'll insert some photos below to get an idea of what it will look like - don't forget to head over to her blog to check out the post!

Moving on to my part of the blog post! I love this outfit so much because it's super comfy but still stylish! Thank you to Sabrina Sacco for capturing these beautiful photos!

For this outfit I started off with this super comfy black & white sweater that I paired with a pair of high waisted jeans. I love the fit of these jeans and since the sweater can be considered as a crop top I like to wear a high waisted jeans just in case. I finished this look by wearing by black leather jacket and my black booties. To accesorize, I wore my rose-gold Michael Kors watch.

I love this outfit because it’s casual yet smart, comfortable yet still fashionable. Let me know in the comments below what you think of the outfit!!

That is it for this post! Stay tuned for more Valentine’s Day-themed blog posts and more collabs on their way 😉
