DIY Activated Charcoal Facemask

Heeey beautiful ❤

I have been seeing this mask all over You Tube and I wanted to give it a try myself. It basically promises to remove all blackheads, leaving your face soft and extremely clean. I saw a gazillion videos of people doing this on camera and although it didn't look hard to create it, I wasn't very keen on peeling it off my face.

The recipe for this mask is :
- PVA Glue (non-toxic glue)
- Activated Charcoal tablets
- Vanilla essence / mint extract

The Activated Charcoal tablets can be found in all leading pharmacies while the PVA glue can be found in an ironmongery and even some stationers.

I started by crushing the activated charcoal tablets as they weren't in a capsule - if you manage to find them in capsule form it will be easier. If you are crushing them make sure that you get it all in crushed well, it has to end up like dust. I crushed two tablets therefore I added 2 tablespoons of glue and mixed them well together. Then I added same vanilla extract to lessen the smell of glue as it might be too strong.
What the mask will look like when mixed.

Items needed for the mask.

Just a warning - this is going to look to nasty to put onto your face, the first time I did it I spent a good 10 minutes evaluating whether I should do it or not and then finally I got the courage to put it onto my face πŸ˜…πŸ˜…. Before applying it warm up a facecloth and heat up your face with it to open up the pores for better results. I applied it with an old NYX face brush to help me distribute it equally all over my face. Stay away from your eyebrows as it might pull them off πŸ™ˆ.

I applied it in the areas where I felt I needed it most however, you can apply it all over your face. Make sure that when applied you have one consistent application with no bumps or lumps on it. Then leave it on until it is completely dry - this takes about 30mins and depends on the thickness of your application. Once its dry you can see that it has sunken into your pores and it will be difficult to even speakπŸ˜‚.

At this point its time to pull it off. Start from downwards and pull upwards - try to always pull it upwards so that you'll remove as much blackheads as possible. I'm not going to lie it is a bit of a painful process, however the results are amazing! Once you remove it you can see actual bits and pieces of the blackheads and dirt that you had on your face.

You cannot see them here as it's not a high quality picture however, once you pull it off you'll end up with something similar to the above picture and if you look closely I'm sure you'll see the dirt and even some little face hairs on it.

After removing it grab your face cloth again and warm it up and clean your face thoroughly  as some remains of the mask will still remain on your face.

If you do this right the results are AMAZING! You will be left with a blackhead-less face and also it will feel so smooth and soft ❤. I would recommend a patch test before doing your whole face as everyone reacts differently to different products. If you do try it leave a comment down below stating your opinion about itπŸ˜€.

One last thing - if you haven't already filled it in please fill in this questionnaire : click here. We are doing this to get closer to our readers and also collecting your email addresses so that updating you guys will be easier πŸ˜†.
