Blossom with self-confidence!

What is self-confidence? Being self confident means being secure in yourself and in your abilities. Self-confidence can mean different things to different people. Just like I did in Boss Lady I wanted to talk about another important topic on my blog and that is Self Confidence.

I haven't mastered this in ANY way but I feel I have improved in many ways from my 16 year old self to now and although many people have helped and influenced, I mostly have only myself to thank. I was never a confident girl or someone who had any real faith in what I did. I used to question all of my decisions, leaving my mind blocked and unable to enjoy the day. Five years ago I couldn't even leave the house without a bit of makeup, at least some mascara. I was too self conscious, too worried about what others might think, 'is my hair looking decent?', 'are my pimples showing?'.

A couple of months ago, for the first time ever I started to believe that I was actually doing something right in my life. I started believing more in myself and in my abilities. I realized that after all it isn't really important how other people look at me or what they think of me. Like I said, I still have a long way to go but finally I feel like I'm heading in the right direction.

This blog was actually part of helping me gain confidence. Going to events, meeting and talking to new people I've never actually met just because we had one thing in common has actually lead me to new friendships and new memories. Believing that I'm confident has led me to such beautiful things. Being more confident had led me to be more comfortable in front of a camera and around other people.

Being proud of who you are is actually a good thing. In my case, something that took away my self confidence was the fact the I have a tendency to compare myself to others and ask why am I not good enough or why am I not like them? In reality, we go through life stages in our lives that are not in sync with those of others. When I stopped comparing myself to others and simply focused on my tasks, goals and achievements I noticed that I was happier, I was in a better mood and I was less self conscious.

  • Whatever the situation may be, keep your head held high and trust your instincts - they know best!
  • Ignore other's actions
  • Trust yourself
  • Be yourself
  • Love yourself
I hope that this helped in some way or another! If you have any other topics you'd like me to talk about on the blog, feel free to message me and let me know. I want to use my platform to help, inspire & motivate others just like other bloggers & influencers do to me!

Have an amazing weekend!

Love,
Deborah X

Review: Kino Cosmetics - Peel Off Mask

Hi guys! New week so that only means that a new post is up. About a month ago I received some goodies from Kino Cosmetics & today I will be sharing with you my thoughts on one of their products. You can purchase any of their products off their website or you can even contact them on their Facebook Page.

Without further ado, let's get started!

Today I will be sharing with you my thoughts on the Peel Off Mask. As per instructions you are supposed to leave the tube in hot water for about three minutes and then you can apply it with a brush on your face; leave it for a good 20 minutes and then peel it off.

I tried this peel off mask several times just to make sure that I was doing it right. The first time I left the tube in the bathroom sink in hot water for three minutes. When I tried applying it on my face it literally crumbled into pieces. After a couple of tries I came to a conclusion that it is best to leave the tube for about half an hour in hot water just so that the consistency of the mask is a bit more creamy. However, do let it sit for a couple of seconds as it will be too hot to apply it directly to your face.

I used an old concealer brush to apply it on my face. I did have to apply about two layers to have an effective result. After I let it dry, I tried peeling it but found it a bit difficult to do so in certain areas. Where there were only thin layers of the mask, it couldn't really peel so I had to scrub it to remove it from my face. The good thing is that you can easily remove it with warm water.

What I REALLY liked about this mask was how it made my face feel afterwards. My nose was so smooth and it was free from any black heads!! My face and skin felt so fresh and moisturized so despite the fact that the 'peel off mask' aspect of it didn't completely work; I am still using this mask once or twice a week because the results on my face are too good to stop using it!

I will be reviewing the other products I got, I just want to make sure that I tried them out a couple of times before I talk to you about them.

Have you ever tried Kino Cosmetics? Let me know in the comments down below which products you have tried!

Until next time!

Hello August!

Hi guys! How are you? A fresh new week has started and I'm finally feeling a bit refreshed after a couple of busy non-stop couple of weeks. I want to be more active on the blog and to tell you the truth I thought I would just do that during summer BUT with work, meeting up with family and friends go on short trips to Gozo - I always end up so tired that I just go to sleep! Anyone else feels like me? Nonetheless, I'm here to kickstart this new week with a brand new blogpost.

I have been loving anything that is not denim haha for the simple reason that I feel more comfortable in my shorts or trousers that I am wearing and I don't have to worry about them during the night! You have already seen the halterneck top that goes with this culotte in the last blogpost. Today I decided to highlight the trousers. I bought this outfit as a dance costume but I ended up loving them, worn separately however!

I am loving having one piece of clothing that is the main piece and the ''centre of attention'' and then tone down everything else. That's what I did with this outfit.

I know green culotte pants are not something that I usually wear but as I said in my previous blogpost, sometimes I LOVE to challenge myself and step outside of my comfort zone. To tone it down I simply wore it with this off-the-shoulder black crop top. I am LIVING in these, I got the black & the white at a super affordable price!!

Put on some high heels and a clutch bag and you're good to go!

That's it from my end today. Don't forget there are TWO ongoing giveaways at the moment, one on Facebook & the other one on Instagram PLUS stay tuned for another one really soon!

Thanks for all your support everyone!

Love,
Deborah X
